Whether you painted aluminum wheels to match the color of the car, whether they use anodized aluminum alloy to improve its appearance, the major problem affecting them is oxidation, which makes them look dirty and old. Gravel, grease stains and tar, also contribute to the ugly appearance of the wheels, and therefore endangers the beauty of your car

Tips for cleaning aluminum wheels:

1. First, disassemble the car wheels on each side, that way you can move them easier.
2. Before starting to clean the rim, remove all the removable items to ease access for the whole area.
3. If you are thinking of using household cleaning products such as soap, detergent or abrasive dust, you must understand that they are not strong enough to remove dirt from the wheels. Neither liquidity car wash usually is not strong enough to remove traces of tar, grease spots or dust that has accumulated in corners and the rims.

4. To remove stains you can use some special cleaning agents. Before buying any cleaner, a paste or gel, make sure it does not contain ammonia, anhydrous chemicals (dried) or acids. While the cleaning solutions wash away the dirt from metal surfaces and makes them shiny, the effect is short. Ammonia and chemicals can corrode aluminum wheels and age prematurely, and cause them to loss their  gloss.
5. The next step is cleaning the wheel. Use a cleaning solution that you bought to remove all dirt from the rim.
6. If you need to scrub the wheels with a brush, you must use special brush on the wheels, which is much softer and does not leave scratches on their surface. All with a soft brush to clean rubber.
7. After cleaning most of the hidden dirt inside the rim, wipe it with a clean cloth or towel.
8. Fat and tar spots, who stubbornly remain after washing can be removed using a cleaner wax and dry fat. Dip a soft cloth in a small amount of solution and wipe the entire surface of the wheel, several times. If stains persist, wipe them with a clean cloth and apply a generous layer of solution.
9. Repeat the process until the rim has no more stains. Special care given to cleaning the areas with holes, corners and connections.

10. When you are satisfied with the result, clean the rims with clean water.
11. Polish your aluminum rims, its always recommended after you have washed them, so use a soft cloth to dry them, and then use a clean one with the polish solution you bought.
12. Repeat these steps for all your car’s wheels

After you have finished with the cleaning, you can sit back and admire the fruit of your labor
