With these adventurers in mind, MotoPOD offers a cargo pod that allows a motorcycle to be attached and carried by a plane. This way, the pilot won’t risk being stranded on an airport with bad public transport connections and will be able to explore the surroundings much easier, then pack up the bike and be on his/her way.

So far, MotoPOD is completing products for the Vans RV-10, but STC’d models will soon be available for the Cirrus SR-22, Cessna 182 and others.

The system has three parts: a wheel speed sensor, a wearable numeric display made from electro-luminescent wire and a small computer that controls everything. Its ingenuity won it the first prize in the Hub Bike Shop’s Bike Gadget Contest in Minneapolis, MN and was scheduled to undergo some speed tests. Who know, we might actually see it in action in the future.

The Road Tech zūmo comes with all the features of the previous versions and adds several goodies for Harley bikers. Beside finding hotels, restaurant and gas stations, users will be able to use the included directory of Harley-Davidson dealerships and also download routes created with the ride planner at Harley-Davidson.com.

Since it’s a product for motorcycles, it’s got a glove-friendly design and it’s waterproof. It comes with a custom mount that’s tailored to fit the rough riding and features a theft prevention system that disables the zūmo until the user types in a specific 4-digit PIN or takes the unit to a predetermined secure location.

Buell motorcycle owners will soon be able to buy special Road Tech zūmos, with the same features and functions.
