Even though this company was around for more than a century building vehicles for enthusiasts and those looking for thrills when they were behind the wheel, it wasn’t a smooth sale throughout its entire activity. When the business was first starting off, sales were impressive, registering a significantly larger income than any of its rivals. But around World War II and a bit afterwards, the innovation was something that their models lacked, something that influenced the opinion of the buyers.
Ten years after the world was over Pontiac came up with a few new features for their cars. They included all new chassis, reconfigured body structures that encompassed V-8 engines which developed more than 170 horsepower. This was a time when innovation played its part in increasing the sales of the company. During a period afterwards something changed with the market, most of them looking for something else.
The more recent history of Pontiac, since the 1980s onwards, the company resorted to its old habits once again. All of the models were focused on high performance and innovation, but this was not enough to save the company from eradication. This company was considered by General Motors to be phased out.
