If you’re after a quirky gadget for your car and you don’t mind that you’ll scare people, Our Lady of the Trunk should be yours. When wired to your brake light, this slightly disturbing speaker will let people know when you are backing up. In a woman’s voice. 100dB worth of it.

Since anyone who hears a lady’s voice coming out of the trunk will be scared to death, you can rest assured that they’ll run off, safely out of your way.

If you have a new car, chances are it came equipped with an MP3 player. But if you own an older vehicle, you might still have a casette player. If that is the case and you don’t want to connect an iPod or similar player, you can simply get a memory card and the Car Cassette MP3 Player.

This unique player can read SD cards and, if one isn’t enough for all the music you need, you can simply get more and swap them. You charge it via USB and, when you’re out of the car you can just get your headphones and use it as a stand alone MP3 player.

If you don’t know what to buy for your VW fan friend, you can skip all the modern licensed products this time and go for something old-fashioned and original.

Originally launched in the ‘70, the Soundwagon Portable Record Player has been reborn. This retro licensed VW van is actually a record player: if placed on a vinyl, it moves along at 33 1/3 speed and uses its speakers to render the music.
While it can be pretty impressive for people who weren’t around in the golden days of records, the downside is there isn’t a 45 RPM model and, of course, the sound isn’t nowhere near perfect.
Of course, it probably won’t ever be used to play records, but make sure the recipient at least has one 33 1/3 record to show it off to curious guests.
You can get it for $89 at Turntable Lab.

Speakers on a motocycle don’t make much sense… But perhaps you want to listen to music while standing still. If you feel this is the accessory your bike was missing, check out the View Gate VMP-300 Motorbike Speakers. They have a 25W output, have built-in 15W amplifiers and are powered by 12V DC. They come a handy attachment kit for quick mounting and they’re 81×90×101 mm in size.

They can be connected to any music player with a standard connection - but it would have to be pretty sturdy to stand the bike trip. They are available for about $100.

I never thought I would ever ride a motorcycle, but last year I tried my luck and fell in love with it. Nevertheless, I don’t ride a motorcycle during winter, but I sometimes miss the noise. Not anymore, with the Motorcycle Engine USB Hub.

Aston Martin and Bang & Olufsen recently announced they will be working together in a “creatinve partnership”. Of course, most of us know what Aston Martin and Bang & Olufsen stand for: luxury, performance and a lot of money.

Bang & Olufsen Chief Executive Officer, Torben Ballegard Sørensen also believes the two companies have much in common, and not just in terms of esteem and ambition. “There are deep similarities between our cultures and heritage. Bang & Olufsen’s values are rooted on passion and performance as well as design and craftsmanship. These are exactly the same values that you experience in an Aston Martin,” he says.
So, what can we expect from this combination? A great car with a kick-a$$ sound system or a great sound system with a kick-a$$ car attached to it? Well, time will tell, but something is sure: a few of us only will enjoy them both.

No, that’s not a typo, Kicker announced the WX10000.1, an amplifier which will definitely wake the whole neighborhood (and at that power you’ll not only wake your neighbors but blow their windows, too) but hey, somebody’s gotta do it. However, this amp is not for everyone, because, first of all, you need eight 12-volt batteries and two 200-amp alternators on your car and second because you’ll need to come up with some serious cash for the sound system, because this baby costs $10,000. And here are these monster’s specs:

From now on, the owners of the Land Rover LR3 / Discovery 3 will have the option of equipping their car with an Alpine fully integrated rear seat entertainment system. The system includes a 6 stack DVD changer mounted in the boot of car, two 6.5” widescreen displays mounted in front headrests, plus AUX input for games console or camcorders.
Keith Price, Alpine’s OEM manager stated:“The components are securely fitted, tested and designed specifically for Land Rover. This allows us to eliminate many of the problems of safety, interference and usability of aftermarket solutions that customers don’t like. The bespoke software allows front seat passengers control of the system too, increasing convenience and avoiding unnecessary stops to turn the system on or change DVD. It all helps to make the journey a little more pleasant.”
