I wish I could’ve lived these days when I was 6. Nothing compares (yes, like the song) to the Knight Rider R/C car. Not even the real one. I think it’s the perfect gadget for my future son! But, of course, I’ll play with it a little before!

And it’s not just a puppet – it can move its legs, its head and shift in the seat, and you control its movements. The other features are impressive too: spring suspension, digital proportional steering and speed control, a throttle-rate selector and steering-trim-system.

Since it’s available in two frequencies, that means you can set up races with a friend… and, for beginners, there’s also a skill level switch, just so you don’t get frustrated from the beginning.

It’s available from Firebox for £59.95 (almost $100).

The set comes with the impressive track, a power pack, two cars, two controllers, grandstand and pit, and is a bit pricey at $249. But oh, the joy of two cars zipping down the tracks…

You can never have too many remote controlled cars.

What do these two sentences have in common? The Infrared Tracker Remote Control Car. Yes, another RC car! But this one doubles the fun: the remote is actually a laser pointer, so instead of controlling your car the usual way you have it follow the red dot. If you’re bored of the “old” style of RC toys, $50 will be nothing for the entertainment this will offer.

P.S. Potentially destructive suggestion: bring a cat in the same room as the car… Just don’t hold me responsible for the results.

The Zero Gravity Micro R/C Car can race on the floor, on the walls and even on the ceiling (and because there’s 4 frequencies available you can really set up races). Magic? No, just smart design.

The A Team R/C Van features the usual functions (forward, reverse, left, right, stop) plus a turbo boost for that extra edge when trying to get rid of those pesky cops or villains. The headlights light up and, as you can see, it’s custom painted exactly like the van in the series.

(No, it doesn’t come with any of the women in the show, unfortunately. You’ll have to take care of that part if you fancy yourself as Face.)

Indeed it is, and it’s called the TOSY R-Tyre. It can go forward and backward and turn left and right and it can move on many types of terrain. There’s not much info available on how it works, but we go know red and blue LEDs indicate the movement direction and that it recharges wirelessly.

Beside the futuristic design, the interesting thing here is the remote. You don’t get buttons and knobs as usual, but an infrared beam. When you aim it at the floor, the car picks it up and follows it, so you are basically guiding the toy just by moving the remote. Magic? Almost.

The Mini comes in two colors (red and silver) and one size (2.25″), with a remote control that looks like a mobile phone. It can go forward and in reverse and do right and left turns, but there’s something to keep in mind: the cars, regardless of color, operate on the same frequency, so there is no way to race them; your controller will just drive them both.
