This was originally thought of as a design to be launched under the brand Amati, but since the company dropped the entire line of production, they gave it the Mazda logo instead.
This model reached countries from all over the world, being known under different names when you saw it on different continents. For instance, the population in Europe knew it under the name Xedos 9, whereas in Japan you found it as Eunos 800. The market where the name tag has stuck was in the United States, and this is where you can find it as such.
This is a very good model and very reliable as well, but every now and then you might have had some problems with it.
