What to do if you’re filthy rich? Buy an expensive car. Or two, or three. When the cars aren’t enough? Get a branded laptop to match the cars.

Bentley Laptop

Bentley got together with Ego for Lifestyle and produced this luxury laptop. It comes with handmade authentic Bentley cross-over hand-stitching and colors to match the automobile, and a price tag you have to sit down for: almost $20.000 (£10,000). The exact technical specs aren’t clear, but it will have a 64-bit processor and an 160GB hard drive and it will run Windows Vista.

Imagine sitting in your car after driving for a couple of hundred miles… and getting a nice massage. Unfortunately, our better halves aren’t always willing to do that.

In-Car Back Massager

But there’s an alternative (although it might not be as pleasant): the USB/In-Car Massager. It draws power from the cigarette socket and is fully controlled with the included remote. The massager offers 4 modes: kneading, tapping, shiatsu and rolling, and three rhythms and speeds: high, medium and low, so anyone should be able to find an appropriate combination to suit him/herself.

And, as a bonus, when you’re done with driving you can just take it upstairs, plug it into your USB and enjoy a nice massage while clicking away at your computer.

I’m bored of all the RC cars and famous car replicas and all that. Time for something different: a 1953 First General Motors Corvette Light Up Car Coin.

corvette_coin.jpg

This officially-licensed 71 mg .925 silver clad coin is a non-circulating legal tender of the Republic of Palau (which is known for many other collector coins). But the most interesting (kitschy?) part are the lights: if you push the Corvette logo on the back of the coins, the headlights of the car light up.

Cool or not? You decide.

We wrote about the upcoming Knight Rider GPS from Mio a short while ago and we were pretty excited. A price was not announced at the time, but now it looks like it’s going to cost about $270. You can see more details on the official website.

Knight Rider GPS

It’s only going to hit the market this autumn, but the guys from Knight Rider Online got to check out the unit and they made a video review, which you can watch after the jump.

The A-Team is definitely one of the best 80s shows, and we still miss Hannibal, Face, B.A. and Murdock. They won’t be back any time soon, but the team’s GMC is here for a bit of pleasant nostalgia.

A Team R/C GMC Van

The A Team R/C Van features the usual functions (forward, reverse, left, right, stop) plus a turbo boost for that extra edge when trying to get rid of those pesky cops or villains. The headlights light up and, as you can see, it’s custom painted exactly like the van in the series.

(No, it doesn’t come with any of the women in the show, unfortunately. You’ll have to take care of that part if you fancy yourself as Face.)

SmartMirror
The UK already had it, and now the United States does too: DS-400GB, now renamed to SmartMirror, a rearview mirror with integrated GPS navigation.

The SmartMirror lets you replace your old rearview mirror instead of finding a new spot for a separate GPS unit, which means it will be easier to watch your route and the cars behind you at the same time.

It has a 64 MB internal memory plus a 2 GB SD card for storing maps and pictures, and is built on Windows CE .NET 4.2. It also features an integrates speaker and several built-in Bluetooth functions, such as Bluetooth hands-free phone, incoming caller ID display on screen and manual/auto call answering. The software it used is Navigon Mobile Navigator 6.5 and, if you add the FreshMaps accesory, you get up to 12 map updates.

It’s quite pricey at $799, and will be available August 1st.

Tosy R-TyreRemote controlled cars are all over the place… but a remote controlled tyre? Is that even possible?

Indeed it is, and it’s called the TOSY R-Tyre. It can go forward and backward and turn left and right and it can move on many types of terrain. There’s not much info available on how it works, but we go know red and blue LEDs indicate the movement direction and that it recharges wirelessly.

If you travel for a longer while, especially if you have kids, the car tends to become a small hurricane site, with things all over the place. The car never has enough storage space, so something like the Swing Away Driver Pouch should be considered by any good planner.

Swing Away Driver Pouch

This seven-pocket tote can be hung behind the front seat headrest and can hold items from CDs and DVDs to chocolate bars, making sure neither get sat or stepped on. It’s also a good spot for your mobile phone - you might not hear it because of the road noise, but if it’s right in front of you and it lights up, it’s difficult to miss. The strap can be used to attach it to the headrest, but also as a shoulder strap for easy transport to and from the car.

No matter how many shiny gadgets your car is equipped with, sometimes the most basic things spell trouble. Such as a bad spare tire. A GPS can’t inflate tires or patch them, unfortunately. But if you use Check-A-Spare regularly you can make sure your spare tires are always properly inflated and ready to use in case of a problem.

Check-A-Spare

The Check-A-Spare is a tool for the lazy: you attach it to your spare tire, extending the valve, and you check the pressure without removing the tire. You can attach any regular valve cap to the end of the hose, and if your spare is low you just connect the air hose to the Check-A-Spare valve.

All you need to worry about is actually remembering to do this…

If you have to drive a longer distance at night, you are bound to run into people who don’t give a damn about other cars and won’t dim their lights. Although it’s usually harmless, ocassionaly it can result in accidents, so if you’re in the “better safe than sorry” crowd you could try out something like the Anti-Glare LED Visor.
(the link is a Google translate of the original German website).

Anti-glare LED visor

The LED panel attaches to your sun visor and softly illuminates the inside of the car at night, thus causing your eyes to stay adapted to light. Your pupils will shrink slightly, so you’ll have less of a problem with bright incoming lights. The brightness can be manually adjusted until you are comfortable enough or you can just use a set of ambient light sensors.
